The night before Walter left us, Hazel came and gently draped her torso over him, as though wrapping her heart around his. She stayed there for some time, her body rising and falling with each breath he took. We can only imagine what passed between them in this exchange, but it was tender and beautiful—an honor to witness.
We are saying god-bye to our family cat, Woody, tomorrow. He gave us 17 years of joy (even though he was a bit of a curmudgeon- part of his charm). Thank you for this post. ❤️
